  • Alzheimer's Care
    At Pen Bay Healthcare's Knox Center for Long-Term Care, the Alzheimer's care unit combines state-of-the-art care with comfort and a sense of home. We also organize and coordinate a support group for mid-coast residents who have family members with Alzheimer's disease.
  • Anticoagulation Clinic
    Created primarily to assist primary care physicians in the management of their patients on long-term oral anti-coagulant therapy.
  • Cancer Care Center
    Expert care, support and guidance in a convenient and healing environment.
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation Services
    Patients are referred for cardiac rehabilitation following cardiac surgery, a heart attack or a diagnosis of heart disease. Staff at Penobscot Bay Medical Center's Betty R. Fisher Cardiac Rehabilitation Center include registered nurses, registered dietitians and an exercise physiologist.
  • Cardiology Services
    Cardiology Services include EKG and treadmill testing, Holter monitors, stress tests and cardiac ultrasound. Trained staff also monitor pacemakers by telephone.
  • Center for Sleep Medicine
    The highest quality diagnostic, therapeudic and educational sleep services.
  • Diabetes and Nutrition Care
    Nutritional counseling for a wide variety of medical conditions and diabetes education in individual or group settings. Updated 10/13/09
  • Ear, Nose and Throat Services
    Care in all areas of ear, nose and throat surgery.
  • Electronic Intensive Care Unit
    A computerized system that tracks vital signs and other information about our patients.
  • Emergency Services
    The Emergency Department (ED) at Penobscot Bay Medical Center provides care for illness and injury for people of all ages, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

    The Endoscopy Department provides a full range of gastrointestinal and pulmonary services on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

  • Infusion Center
    Provides outpatients with intravenous medications.
  • Laboratory Services
    The Laboratory at Penobscot Bay Medical Center is fully certified and accredited. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Medical/Surgical Units
    These units, staffed by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, are designed to provide the best in medical care.

  • Pen Bay Pediatrics
    Pen Bay Pediatrics provides care to newborns, infants, children and adolescents for both acute care and preventive medicine needs.
  • Pharmacy and Discharge Prescriptions
    The Penobscot Bay Medical Center Pharmacy, on the main floor of the hospital, is open 7 days a week, offering discharge prescription services to PBMC patients.
  • Physical and Occupational Therapy
    High-quality, professional care with personal attention.
  • Primary Stroke Center
    A comprehensive, hospital-wide, interdisciplinary approach to collaborative healing.
  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation
    Pulmonary Rehabilitation combines lung health education, exercise, strength training and support to help people with chronic breathing problems learn how to control their shortness of breath and improve their day-to-day lives.
  • Radiology
    Routine Radiology Services are provided at PBMC Monday through Friday.Emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Respiratory Care
    Respiratory Care provides 24-hour coverage to hospital patients. Our accredited respiratory therapists evaluate, treat and care for both inpatients and outpatients under the direction of a physician.
